(More customer reviews)There's no questioning D'Addario quality in my book, and this set is no exception. Only thing that bugged me is how bright they were when I first put them on. Any set of strings will have more treble when clean and new (as compared too, say, after a few weeks of playing), but these are *really* bright.
I can definitely recommend this somewhat light-gauge 5-string set to anyone who has truss rod issues, as I do, where the neck is slightly bowed such that your action is pretty high: these *should* cause less bowing than a .135 set.
The volume balance is also nice, BTW: my top string is nearly as loud as my bottom string, which often wasn't the case with other sets.
Last but not least: good price for two complete sets! Remember, you can never have enough strings, especially if you work the low-paying semi-pro circuit: when meeting other bands, nothing says "Hey dude, you got some cool bass lines" more sincerely than giving another player one of your spare sets.
