(More customer reviews)I am just an intermediate guitarist that plays with backing tracks at home several times a week, maybe even once a day. I have been using Elixir coated strings for a while, but prior to that, I used D'Addario strings. I recently decided to try these out for the first time. The wound strings feel great, just what you would expect from a coated string, but the unwound (G, B, high E) strings feel just slightly slicker than regular strings. This is not necessarily bad; at times the Elixir strings can feel a bit too slippery. I have been playing with these for about 2 weeks, and I finally broke the high E string. I typically don't break strings very often, but I was bending the high E string pretty hard when it broke. One really nice thing is that these come with an extra high E string in the package. I did notice that when I put the new high E string on, that it felt "more slick" or "more coated" than the other 2 non-wound strings on the guitar. I don't think that the coating on these is as thick or as durable as the coating on the Elixir strings, but these are also a couple bucks cheaper. I also notice that my fingertips get slightly "metallic" when I play these for a while, which never happens with the Elixir strings.
Today I ordered another set of these from Amazon. I am going to try these at least one more time, and then decide whether to stick with them or switch back to Elixir. I will try to remember to update this review after playing with these for a while longer.
