(More customer reviews)I've been wanting some soft boxes for occasional still-life and ebay product shots and these fit the bill well. They product nice even light (when used with the optional 4-bulb adapter) and are reasonably well-constructed for light use. I'm not sure I'd recommend them for location work, even indoor stuff as I suspect frequent setup and teardown wear be their undoing.
If you're just starting out with indoor/studio lighting, these are a great place to start, especially compared to electronic flash or studio flashes, which will cost a lot more and require a flash meter and more lighting know-how.
Lastly, my only real criticism is that the soft box is not that quick or easy to assemble/disassemble, and the main reason I think these will eventually wear out due to setup. I'll probably get better with time, but it's not as easy as stated in the product description.
