I used to use one of those little portable fold-up music stands because I could easily carry it at the same time as my trumpet and my music, etc., when I went to band. The tray wasn't very deep, and my music was always falling off. But, I had refused to get a "big music stand" like everyone else because it would require making 2 trips to carry all my stuff when I went to practice or a performance. Then I discovered this portable stand, and it is wonderful. The case can be carried by the handle or the shoulder strap. It is very sturdy for a portable music stand.
