(More customer reviews)I used this device recently at my wedding reception/house party in order to manage the 'duty cycles' between two lighting units - one with a 15 minute duty cycle and one with a 10 minute duty cycle.
Pros -
Simple, compact, easy to use design. You just plug in your two devices, mount it somewhere and then hit the 'On' switch when you want to cue the lights and hit the 'Off' switch when you want to turn them off.
Cons -
The dial that determines how long of a time passes before it switches to the second device. I was trying to get right around a 10 minute duty cycle. But the dial isn't marked in 'minutes', rather it's more like a volume knob that goes from 1 to 10 or something similar. And since you have to wait through the first duty cycle each time you adjust it in order to see whether you've reached the appropriate time interval, I spent over an hour just trying to adjust the dial. I ended up quitting when I got to about 8 minutes and leaving it at that - "good enough", I thought.
Having said that, for the price I paid I got exactly what I needed and have only the one complaint about the setup time. If you were going to use this on a regular basis and could spend the time to figure out the corresponding time intervals that went with the markings on the dial, it would not be an issue at all, I suppose.
If you're looking for a simple, inexpensive device to alternate between two 'setups', this will fit the bill.
