These are the lightest and most subtle acoustic steel string guitar strings I have ever played. Stands to reason nobody else could achieve this, Thomastik makes strings for the entire orchestra, and countless world instruments, as well as the most amazing electric bass strings.
The package photo here is incorrect - it's for the next set "up", with an 0.011" treble string. The AC110 has a .010". The bottom is a 0.041, called a roundwound bronze, though it's more like an 80/20 brass. The A, D and G are flatwound brass! The B and high E are brass-plated steel. Get the picture? These are the least conventional most "let's achieve the objective" strings, bar none. Can you believe they sound great? I have them on a short scale Luna Muse Safari, with a 22" scale, imagine that! That's what i call LOW tension. And they still make sound, in fact they make an extremely complex rich sound I wouldn't trade for anything. A bit expensive and of course a bit delicate (darn that truss rod alan wrench nicked the G string a bit, but then again it's a FLATWOUND 0.013" Brass G String!?), these are not your grandfather's strummin' strings, though the next instrument I try them on will be a big D-018 that has so far refused to be a fingerpicker's guitar, so let's see what happens on THAT one. BTW I wouldn't worry about the AC111 having only one flatwound string, all these are actually half-flats, literally neither rounds nor ribbon-flatwounds. If you don't like lumberjack guitar, and you like finger by finger control, you DO have to try these! They somehow remind me of the most miniaturized electronics that pack gigabytes on a pinhead. These are the 21st century acoustic guitar's 80/20 super-slinkies.
