(More customer reviews)This seemed like a great idea, i.e., a portable light that's easily directed. The problem I had (I used a Maglight 5 cell) is that the magnetic base is too narrow. So unless you have the flashlight perched juuusstt right, it'll topple over. The gooseneck holds its shape very well but the need to balance the light so carefully over its base makes this a moot point.
Mounting the holder vertically didn't work for me either due to the comparative weakness to the magnets in the mounting based.
I'm giving this two stars as it's a great concept that was poorly thought out when converted to metal.
