(More customer reviews)These are great strings, with roughly average lifespan, and sweet tone that's a little on the mellower side of things, but not so much that they'll hold you back from harder rock styles. They stay in tune well and I've yet to have one break. Bends are a breeze, and slides are smooth and quiet thanks to the roller-wound bottom strings. Chord changes -- particularly barre- and power-chord slides and changes -- are much quieter than with normal round-wound strings, and these are easier on the fingers as well. It's not a tremendous difference: roller-wound is much closer to standard round-wound than to the flat-wound strings used by jazz players and bass players, but the difference is noticeable. Highly recommended to all but heavy-metal players who might want something more along the lines of GHS' cold-steel line.
