(More customer reviews)I had ordered these strings because I like the bright tone and durability of stainless steel strings and I have a Schecter Elite 5 bass. I had been stringing Dean Markleys through the bridge, but I wanted to try using strings that can be strung through the body. So, I decided to order the super long scale.
The winding of the strings stopped way too short and they could not be strung through the body. I had tried to string them through the bridge which cuts about an inch from how long the strings need to be; however, they still proved to be too short. The package clearly states that they can fit a 36 inch scale bass which I needed in order to string through the body. My bass is a 35 inch scale when strung through the bridge. The strings may have been able to fit a 34 inch scale, which is not super long scale. Perhaps a mistake had been made during the production run and the strings that I had were wound for a shorter scale?
I have used D'Addario strings in the past and I found them to be a high quality product; although, not my favorite strings. So, I am dissappointed and question D'Addario's quality control practices.
