(More customer reviews)I use these strings on both an old Gibson EB-2 bass and on a recent Gibson SG bass. They provide more treble, definition, and clarity than flat wound strings provide. Definition and clarity from the strings are particularly important with Gibson basses, especially the EB-2. On a short scale (30.5") bass, the string tension is very comfortable. I used them once on a long scale (34") bass with no problems as well. The strings are relatively inexpensive, especially in this two-pack. For me one set of strings will only last about two months, though, before at least one string goes dead (usually the E string). That is based on playing a weekly gig, two weekly rehearsals, and a couple hours per week of practice at home.
